Good overall low priced system, with some minor drawbacks, August 11, 2011 This review is from: Toshiba Satellite L775D-S7220 17.3-Inch LED Laptop (Grey) (Personal Computers) First, let's talk about the good features.
- This laptop is relatively light weight for it's size. I've read other reviews of folks saying it's heavy, I disagree. The un-boxed weight of this product is advertised at 6.3lbs. I don't find it heavy in the slightest.
- The screen is very bright, crisp and easy to see. I've played a few games on it (Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3) and the resolution was quite good.
- The games (mentioned above) were played on max video settings with no visible lag. The computer also ran cool during the gaming. I was very impressed with the quality of the experience for the money I paid ($499 at another retailer).
- The windows 7 home premium operating system comes loaded from the factory on this machine. I got a 5.8 windows experience rating on this product right out of the box.

Toshiba L775-S7222 clock problems., September 27, 2011 This review is from: Toshiba Satellite L775D-S7220 17.3-Inch LED Laptop (Grey) (Personal Computers) I purchase the L775-S7222 a in July and it has the fast clock problem. I would have returned it but I didn't become aware of the problem until after Staples) 14 day policy. I have a lower end model Toshiba which I have had in operation for three years and it has performed flawlesly. This fast clock situation has effected quite a few computers, perhaps the ones with this AMD processor. After a few " my name Peggy" calls to tech srevice and several attempts to fix the problem the latest word is the computer is to be shipped back to Toshiba for a repair.
I am waiting for the shipping box to arrive at this time. In all fairness Toshiba's tech service has been very good and their response line was with a minimum of waiting. The computer in general performs well and when this problem is resolved I am sure it will be worth the investment..

Do a Google search for [Satellite L775D clock running fast] to see the Toshiba forum posts about it. Basic problem is that the computer can't keep time properly when turned off, in sleep, or in hibernate, so you turn the laptop on and your clock will be hours ahead of where it should be. Repair is inconvenient; you have to bring the laptop in and not have the laptop for days or weeks.
Too bad, the laptop otherwise isn't bad, especially at the price, but, had I known about this clock problem, I definitely would have bought a different laptop, and you probably should too.
