So far it works great. The case feels well made unlike my previous MSI laptop. That MSI laptop's plastic crack just from opening and closing it. Plus I had to send it in to 2 times the first year and once the second. But this one I can tell the difference in the quality. I love that it barely runs warm. When I place my hand on the Blower it barely feels warm even when I'm converting a video, burning a music CD, etc. If I had to say anything I don't like it would be that it has no HDMI and only 2 USB port. But I knew that before I purchased it so I'm not knocking off a star. I upgraded the memory to 8GB, just because it's so cheap. For 30 bucks I doubled the memory. It feels very responsive and I can burn a CD or convert a movie, use Skype and browse without feeling the laptop slowing down at all. I checked out reliability for Laptop brands at CNET. They had a Squaretrade chart showing the percentage of repair within 1st, 2nd and 3rd year... Read more

Good every day laptop., March 11, 2012 By MB3 (Poconos PA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Toshiba Satellite C655-S5231 15.6" Laptop (Intel Core i3-2310M Processor, 4 GB RAM, 640 GB Hard Drive, DVD+/-RW Drive, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) (Personal Computers) I got this Toshiba to replace an 8 year old Dell for every day use such as bills, social media, general browsing etc. It is very light in weight compared to my 1505 Dell, almost to the point it feels too light. So far the laptop works great, it has enough of everything to make it a great daily use rig. My main reason for buying it was the deal, $219.50 it was a steal. Amazon has it now for $500, I'm not sure I'd pay THAT much for it but if you can get it at a bargain and I think you will since they appear to be closing them out then I'd say go for it. Over all I am happy with the purchase and will try Toshiba in the future when I go for a higher end rig with all the bells and whistles.
